Jammu, Aug 24 (KNO): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a meeting with officials at Raj Bhavan in Jammu on Sunday to review the relief and rescue efforts following the Kishtwar cloudburst that claimed 65 lives. Following his hospital visit, Rajnath Singh, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) held a meeting with senior officials at Raj Bhavan in Jammu to review the overall flood situation in the region. The meeting was attended by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, senior representatives from the Army, and the civil administration. During the meeting, the Defence Minister evaluated ongoing relief operations and discussed strategies to improve rescue and rehabilitation efforts. He assured full support to the Jammu and Kashmir government in providing assistance to the people affected by the recent cloudburst in the region. Due to adverse weather conditions, Singh was unable to visit the cloudburst-affected site directly. Instead, he proceeded to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, where he met with several survivors who were admitted for treatment. During his visit, he inquired about their medical condition and the care they were receiving from hospital staff. The cloudburst on August 14 triggered flash floods in Chashoti village, leading to significant casualties and widespread damage.
